The Barnacle Society is proud to present a special engagement outdoor concert this March. The first show on March 12 is SOLD OUT and seats for this encore performance are limited.

COCONUT GROVE Eighteen-year-old Connor Munroe is a Miami native and a senior at Ransom Everglades School, but don’t let his youth fool you. This soulful saxophonist has been performing jazz for half his life, has won numerous awards, and has been selected for 12 All-American and All-State jazz bands. His debut album “Then + Now” consists of classic jazz ballads that Munroe orchestrated and features his signature, expressive sound behind a lush orchestra that includes a jazz big band, strings, and backup vocalists. The album includes 50 contributors, most of whom are contemporaries Munroe met in the South Florida music community. Released last November, “Then + Now” was completed during the height of the pandemic when Munroe said that even finding recording space presented an enormous challenge.

The first show is sold out, and the Connor Munroe Quartet will be back for an encore performance at The Barnacle Historic State Park, 3485 Main Highway, Coconut Grove, FL 33133 on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 7 p.m. EST to 9 p.m. EST. The gate opens one hour before show time. Prices are $20 for adults and children and $18 for Members of The Barnacle Society. Become a member by visiting thebarnacle.org. Concerts are strictly limited to 50 people and seats sell out quickly so be sure to buy early only on Eventbrite.com. Tickets are non-refundable and will not be sold at the gate.

On the evening of the show, park in the neighborhood and head over to The Barnacle where a long, wooded pathway leads to the spacious bayside lawn for open seating on the grass. Masks and social distancing are required, and hand sanitizer will be available. Chairs are available on a first come, first served basis, and patrons are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets and folding chairs. Please leave pets at home and come prepared to pack out all trash as there are no waste bins in the park.
